artist statement

Process  /  When starting a painting there is no precursor in my mind as to what will unfold. My actions upon the canvas are simply responding to each motion that I'm prompted by. As the painting progresses I then grasp, in part, the image that I am working towards.

Painting has taught me a great deal about process and patience. Each painting has its gross moments where it looks chaotic and unattractive; moments where it appears the painting is backtracking. Operating in patience through the process allows the grace to refrain from quitting.

Heaven  /  When I started going to art shows I experienced several individuals sharing with me that they have seen and/or experienced the places I've painted. I then [humbly] realized my paintings to be prophetic and visuals of Heaven.
